GOVERNOR JOHN BEL EDWARDS DENOUNCES CAROLINE FAYARD'S RACE-BAITING ATTACK ON FOSTER CAMPBELL

Baton Rouge - Earlier today, Governor John Bel Edwards released the following statement denouncing Caroline Fayard's false attack on Foster Campbell:

"In this election for the U.S. Senate, the stakes couldn't be higher. Washington is broken, and we need a Senator who can break through the gridlock to help Louisiana overcome some significant challenges. That candidate is Foster Campbell. David Duke represents the worst of Louisiana's past, and these attacks on him are wrong and irresponsible. I've known foster for A long time, and I know he has the courage to stand up for all Louisianans, from his farm in Shreveport to the mouth of the Mississippi. Today, I'm joining respected civil rights leaders, faith leaders and elected officials from across Louisiana in reaffirming my support for Foster Campbell, and I'm asking again for the people of Louisiana to join me in supporting his campaign. Foster is the proven leader Louisiana needs in the U.S. Senate."
