Foster Campbell on the Issues

I have watched Foster fight on behalf of ordinary working men and women in Louisiana for years.
— Governor John Bel Edwards

A LIFETIME OF SERVICE TO LOUISIANA FAMILIES

As Public Service Commissioner and state senator, Foster Campbell fought to improve the lives of everyday Louisiana citizens:

  • Created the Louisiana Education Excellence Fund, which directed $1 Billion from the Tobacco Settlement and required the money be spent in public school classrooms
  • Stood up for victims of domestic violence by partnering with utilities to waive start-up credit and deposit requirements for victims fleeing violence
  • Stopped utility disconnections when temperatures fall below freezing in winter and above a heat index of 105 degrees in summer to protect families in severe weather
  • Exposed corrupt, illegal overcharging by prison phone companies to keep families connected

I will take on the powerful special interests and make a difference for the people who just want jobs, opportunity, affordable healthcare and good schools.
— Foster Campbell

A COMMITMENT TO CONTINUE THE FIGHT

In the U.S. Senate, Foster Campbell will fight harder than ever:

  • Support Equal Pay for work by women and their male counterparts
  • Support an Increased Minimum Wage so parents can spend less time at work and more time with their children
  • Support College Loan Forgiveness in return for two years of military or domestic public service
  • Support Medicaid Expansion and work to improve Obamacare
